HISTORICAL EXHIBITIONS (Exhibition Area Acoustic Guitar Village) on display from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September
–Exhibition “Nuages – The jazz manouche guitar”curated by master luthiers Leonardo Petrucci and Martina Gozzini The tone of a manouche guitar is the result of an innovative construction concept. Django Reinhardt, fascinated by the power and precision of this model, adopted this instrument, which would remain inextricably linked to his music and to manouche jazz. A journey through the history of the gypsy jazz guitar, from Mario Maccaferri to the first Selmers, to luthiers such as Busato, Castelluccia, and Di Mauro, who have continued this unique legacy- Closeup view of an old manouche acoustic guitar, vintage style.
–Exhibition “The guitar in Naples” curated by Master Luthier Lorenzo Frignani In the history of the guitar, its musical repertoire, and its instrument makers, the Neapolitan area has provided us with some of the most important and representative artisans of all time. The Vinaccia and Fabricatore families, along with a wide variety of other makers, contributed significantly to the transition from the baroque guitar to the six-string model. These masterful luthiers left us examples of fine lutherie that still fascinate us today and accompany us in the rediscovery of the guitar’s rich and varied history. And the contributions of figures like Mauro Giuliani and Niccolò Paganini, at a time when musical salons were becoming increasingly popular, brought the masterpieces of Italian artisan makers to all European courts, elevating them to the level of the finest guitars. Cremona will have the opportunity to present an exhibition of these masterpieces of the past thanks to the collaboration of the luthier and collector Lorenzo Frignani, who will offer the opportunity to see the most representative historical examples of the masterful Neapolitan school and its luthiers in person
On display are ethnic string instruments with necks, both plucked and bowed
