From October 2 to 4, 2026, the Acoustic Guitar Village returns to Cremona Musica with a training program on violin making for luthiers, professional and amateur builders, and enthusiasts in general.
This year’s masterclass, following widespread demand, will focus specifically on the repair and restoration of acoustic guitars and other plectrum and plucked instruments.
Instructors will be Master Luthiers DOUG & SHARON PROPER (USA), owners and operators of The Guitar Specialist, Inc., a renowned repair and restoration workshop in Westchester County, New York, and IAN DAVLIN (USA), founder of The Looth Group, an online community and educational platform for luthiers, professional repairers, and instrument makers.
Three days of intensive training in two areas: professional fretwork, from fingerboard preparation to final fretwork, and 3D printing applied to violin making, from modeling to prototype printing. Both combine theory, practical demonstrations, and direct discussions, providing practical tools for immediate use in everyday practice.

CREMONA ACOUSTIC BLUES MEETING!
Concerts, conferences, masterclasses, lutherie.
This Meeting wants to celebrate the “first rural blues,” the music born in the Mississippi River Delta, and its subsequent evolution through the various musicians who interpreted it and made it known, always within the context of acoustic and popular music, before its urban “electrification.” The first acoustic blues, from the late 19th to the early 20th century, was the artistic and musical expression of the African-American population, forced to live a life of enormous hardship and marginalization.
The two important evening concerts in the historic center of Cremona are confirmed:
- Special Night in the splendid Auditorium of the Violin Museum on Friday 2 October at 9pm
- Cremona Musica Downtown, Saturday October 3rd, in the historic Federico II courtyard facing Cremona’s Piazza del Duomo, again at 9:00 pm.
Free admission for both events!
The Cremona Musica Downtown Giovani event has also been confirmed for Sunday, October 4th, an all-day event on the Palco della Musica in Piazza Roma. It will feature performances by various soloists and youth acoustic bands.
